Some of the components were bent in shipment but since the metal is so flimsy it was not difficult to straighten. I have put together many IKEA pieces and was therefore not too daunted by the task of putting this item together.....The pictorial directions were extremely imited however and really very different from the wood Ikea pieces. The long and the short is I installed the front door piece upside down and was not aware I had done so until after I had installed the shelves. I then tried to take it apart and discovered it to be impossible as the shelf has a bracket that locks everything in place. I am now left with a unit that I cannot complete or use. I will say that after putting the shelf in it seemed to stabilized the unit and I would guess that the item is a lot sturdier than I thought when I first started building it.I would return it or even exchange it now that I know where I went wrong but I can't take it apart....edited reviewI reached out to the manufacturer and was told that it was designed to be broken down with tools, but carefully. Keeping that in mind I took a closer look at the shelf bracket and found a tool that would pry the bracket up and release the shelf....once broken down I rebuilt it and have raised my rating. While still a flimsy grade of steel but for the price point I think it is fair. Seems sturdy enough for my purposes
